Singles Mingles Dinners in country and rural areas

Hi

It became increasingly apparent in the last six months, that a lot of people in country and rural areas do not have the social networks that they desire. In days gone by there were dances, and lots of social functions where singles could interact and meet each other. Nowadays, it seems the pub or online meetings are more common.

Part of my personal and business mission statement is “contribution and connection with others”, and listening to what people were saying, I decided to host a Singles Mingles dinner at the restaurant of a friend in Ipswich. It went extremely well. The local newspaper ran a story on the dinner, and people flocked to come. They wanted to meet other single people in a social, friendly atmosphere, without any pressure to date. A lot of people were looking for others that shared common interests, some were looking for romance, and all wanted a great meal in a lovely restaurant with fantastic people.

Again, listening to the needs of the people, it was decided that this dinner/social event needed to be held on a regular, once a month, basis at a variety of venues.

Hence, Singles Mingles was created. People attend a dinner in a restaurant, and I host the evening. There is a fun quiz (with prizes) held during the evening, and the aim is to get people talking to, and beginning to know, each other. The quiz is very successful in doing this. Tables are usually set for six people, and each course the guests must change tables. This way they get to meet most of the other people there, and prevents a guest getting “stuck” at the one place all night.

Upcoming events include; a pizza and pasta night, a 3 course roast dinner at a winery, a murder mystery weekend in the haunted cellar of a country mansion, dinner in a country pub, etc etc

There is a presentation by me, (try to keep a motivational speaker from NOT talking at an event!) during the evening. I give a fun talk on dating and meeting people in the 21st century, and people can find out what I do as a dating and relationship coach. The guests can then ask questions. This is a very fun part of the evening.

Local newspapers, a national magazine, and various radio stations are all keen to promote these dinners. I have even been driving around putting up flyers at various General Stores in the country areas around me.

So, check out the new website www.singlesminglesqld.com.au. If you know any singles that might be interested, pass this information along. If you know any areas that want these events held, also, let me know.

Cheers

Helen
